London Blue: The Suit for Men Who Refuse to Be Boring

What’s up? I bet you thought you’d seen the last of me. 

But unfortunately, I still have unfinished business. And that business, though none of yours, is moving these suits so I can continue educating the masses!

So today, we’re going to talk about this popular shade of medium blue that I have aptly named “London Blue.” And I’m sure you’re wondering why I called it London Blue... 

Because of reasons… However, before you run off and buy one, let me tell you something that may come as a shock: this isn’t the first suit I’d recommend to everyone. 

See, unlike a Navy suit, London Blue is not a universal player. The shade can feel a little too relaxed for formal evening events, conservative business environments, or those uptight boardroom meetings where everyone is trying to look like the corporate Sopranos. It can also feel slightly out of place during the fall and winter months, when darker colors and heavier fabrics are in season.

So, where does London Blue shine the most? 

As the ultimate gap filler! Now, what do I mean by “gap filler”? It perfectly fills out the “gaps” that your navy suit can’t. Picture this: Someone pulls up in a navy suit at a rooftop party, looking like he’s about to do a PowerPoint presentation on the exciting world of tax withholding codes. 

Absolutely not... This is where your London Blue comes in. 

For example: it’s Sunday, a lovely 70 degrees outside, and you need something to wear to brunch with your friend group—something that reads put-together and not doing too much. Or, it’s Casual Friday, and you don’t feel like being strangled by a tie, but you have a dope-ass collection of pocket squares and lapel pins, or maybe some fun socks that you’d like to show off. Or, imagine that your girlfriend (or boyfriend in some cases) has listed you as their plus-one for the wedding you’d rather avoid, but you have a deep, DEEP-seated satisfaction in pulling this fit off and outdressing the groom.

But in summation, London Blue doesn’t take itself too seriously… It’s the perfect suit for spring or summer, and you would be able to rock it at any event or in any environment where a navy suit would be considered, as the kids say, “doing too much.”

So get your London Blue suit, grab some fun ties and pocket squares, and put together some ugly-ass combinations with your head held high. I believe in you.
